The mind behind Alzheimer’s disease and a look into his lab

Wait, the Human Computation Institute team was in Germany?? Yes! We found ourselves in the city of Munich for the Hybrid Human Artificial Intelligence Conference to gather ideas and feedback about our new Beta Catchers project (more on that in future posts). Stroke data in Stall Catchers!

It turns out that we can use Stall Catchers not only for Alzheimer's research, but also for stroke research! And if you're familiar with Stall Catchers, you might notice that the new stroke data set looks a bit different - there's a reason for

Among other things, they turn to Stall Catchers with some new requests for help from our loyal community of catchers! Researchers from Cornell University, Boston University, and the Human Computation Institute

Meet the bot authors - Laura Onac and her bot “GAIA”

And GAIA makes three! Some of you might remember Laura Onac’s bot, GAIA, as she was the first bot EVER to play Stall Catchers. Wow, time flies! GAIA was able to compete once again in our most recent Bot Study. Since this Bot Study was a chance to test

Microsoft’s annual Giving Campaign - a time of year when volunteering blooms

Last month alone, the Stall Catchers community grew by 1,167 new catchers! And there’s a great reason for this - October is Microsoft’s annual Giving Campaign, during which employees rally to volunteer their time for a cause that feels important to them. This year, Microsoft invited Stall

The Bot study in Stall Catchers just ended. We have already discussed bots so much. Players constantly saw bot names on the leaderboard. And the bots analyzed so much data. And still - even bots themselves were just machines, they were all created by great and talented people! To get
