It's been more than 24 hours of the Catchathon 2018, and the competition is just getting started!

Here's what happened so far ...

Over 200 catchers from 30+ teams have already joined the catchathon!
Over 15K research vessels analyzed!

That adds up to over 300 hours of research time, i.e. that's how long it would have taken to analyze this amount of data in the lab!

We're analyzing a completely new dataset that's dealing with a compound known as "NOX inhibitor". Studying the effect of this compound on stalls in the brain in Alzheimer's may reveal the molecular pathway behind this process, and help define Alzheimer's treatment targets. More about it soon!

Special Austrian "Golden Hour" this morning sets bar for other countries

Our friends at the Open Innovation in Science Center in Vienna organized their own special 1-hour competition, attended by our lead, Pietro! Together they analyzed 3.5 days worth of research in just one hour!

Watch their live stream here:

And Pietro's call to action here:

Ruth and Noa who did a school research project on Stall Catchers earlier this year, join from Catalonia!

Read the story about their project here. We hear it came out great! 😊

Our colleagues from ScienceAtHome join from Denmark, Games for Health Europe from the Netherlands with their own teams!

That's it for the mid-term report!
